IF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR

You are the one people call

You are capable and organised and dependable, and you notice what a room needs before anyone has had to say it out loud. From the outside your life works, which is exactly why nobody has ever thought to ask how it feels from the inside.

Underneath it, your body has not exhaled properly in years. You know what your boundaries are you could write them out on paper if someone asked you to you simply cannot seem to hold one once somebody is disappointed. Rest arrives with a small invoice attached. Your shoulders have lived somewhere near your ears for so long that you have stopped noticing they are up there.

None of this is a flaw in your character. It is a nervous system that learned very early and very well how to survive, and was never once shown how to feel safe.

Your body is not the problem. Your body is the guide.

A DIFFERENT PLACE TO START

Not another thing to be good at

You have probably tried a number of things by now. Mindset work. Productivity systems. A meditation app you were consistent with for eleven days. Traditional yoga, where you were quietly the best in the room at holding a shape that hurt.

None of it was wrong. It was just asking a braced body to behave like a settled one, which is a bit like asking someone to speak calmly while the fire alarm is going. Most approaches try to change behaviour before the nervous system feels safe, and behaviour will not hold when it is built on that.

This work begins somewhere else. It begins with safety, and everything else follows from there on its own which is slower than you would like and considerably more permanent.

THE CURATOR

Hey, I'm Prishaniee

Somatic guide, yoga teacher and Ayurveda practitioner, working mostly with women who are very good at being fine.

I built this house because I could not find it anywhere else. For a long time I thought the problem was that I had not yet found the right practice the right sequence, the right teacher, the right amount of effort pointed in the right direction. I was very good at trying things. What I was not good at was staying still long enough to hear what my body had been saying underneath all of it.
